Recount Writing: At the Market day

I am learning to use the correct structure for recount writing.

At the Market day

On Friday me and my family went to the Market day at school. It was so so cool. Firstly when we got there we went to get our tickets from Whaea Stacey. Then I went to play on the park. When I got to the park I saw Zion. I asked if he wanted to play tag. He said, “Yes.” Then I said, “You're in.” When I ran, I ran as fast as a race car but Zion tagged me. Then some other kids wanted to play. I said yes but when we played Zion was just too fast. The kids that played were Tarihe Whetu, Zion and Armani.

When we finished playing we stopped and then we went to have a drink of L&P. It was so tasty. After that we had a kai. We had a fried bread with chocolate on top and candy floss and a toffee apple. Then me and my family went home.

Seed to feed

When we first started growing our plants we grew them from seeds. The rain started to pour. That’s what made our plants grow and when the sun came out it took the water down to the soil.

We are growing tomatoes. We are growing corn and squash. We are growing courgettes and silverbeet and sunflowers and Bok choy and kale and purple tansy. That is all of the plants that we have grown this term.

I feel super proud of our class because we grew our plants from seeds.  Our class didn’t think that we could grow plants from seeds. Whaea Hera showed us how to grow plants from seeds. It has taken us about 9 weeks to grow our plants to sell.

Bullying Blue Birds

Dear Bluebirds,

Bullying is not ok.

Firstly, I think being a bully is not the right thing to do because I know you won’t like it if Big Bird did that to you. Feelings get hurt. So you should not be mean.

Secondly I think you should not be a bully because he might do something for you like might want to be you friend.

Another reason  why I think you should not be a bully is because you would be a bucket dipper.  That means you are taking good things out of Big Bird’s bucket instead of putting them in.

Lastly why I think you should not be a bully is because you would have no friends.  No one will want to play with you.

So that's why I think you should not be a bully. Be a good friend instead.

Recount Writing-Catching Tuna

Catching tuna.

On a beautiful night I went to catch tuna with my family

at the creek by the Tarzan swing. When we got there we set some lines and had a kai. I felt excited.

Then we heard a noise coming from the creek. I blazed with the torch to see if it was a tuna. It was a tuna. It was as long as a giraffe's neck. I smacked it with a stick two times on the head. Then we put it in the bag. I felt amazed at myself for catching a big tuna. We caught 4 tuna.

Then we went home to eat them. We put them straight on the fire. They tasted good.

It was an amazing night. I love going to catch tuna.

We should do homework every night

I think we should do homework every night.                                                     Firstly I think we should do homework every night so we can achieve our goals because we are practising our learning at home.

Secondly I think we should do homework every night so we can get smarter .

Another  reason why I think we should do homework every night is so we can give our brain a workout.

Lastly I think we should do homework every night so we can have one by one time with our mum.

So that's why I think we should do homework every night.

I think we should play sport every day.

First I think we should play sport every day because we can get fitter. We can get fit at playing sport.

Secondly I think we should play sport every day because we can learn how to work together as a team.

Another reason why we should do sport every day is because we can get fresh air.

Lastly I think we should do sport every day because can learn some good skills.

So that’s why I think we should play sport every day.
